Synopsis:
Kou and Maki have been friends since they were in diapers, and for that same amount of time, Kou has been in love with Maki. What Kou doesn’t know is that Maki has known all of this for all this time. Stolen kisses while Maki sleeps, silent devotion, and more have led to an apparent conclusion: Kou adores Maki, and Maki knows it. But more important than that is that Maki has grown to love Kou in return. But Kou refuses to confess.
Thankfully, after a violent kitten rescue mission, Maki finally coaxes the love confession he’s longed for.
However, that comes with its own set of problems. Apparently, Kou has done so much work to hold himself back from going too far with Maki that he has become impotent. Maki has waited this long. What’s a little more time?
Review:
To begin with, the cover is somewhat misleading. The style on the cover appears much more modern than the actual style. In reality, I feel that the art style within the manga itself feels much more antiquated, which I’m not a big fan of. I also don’t care for how Maki’s pompadour looks in the actual story, while I adore it on the cover. Maki really looks goofy in many of the panels, which was unfortunate. However, the action scenes are phenomenal, and the sexy scenes are really sexy, so it is good when it counts.

For a story about delinquents, this is actually very, very tame. It has a tranquil quality about it that makes it feel like a blip in time. While I wouldn’t categorize this as slice of life, it definitely gives that vibe. If not for the delinquent action that occurs, I think this very much would’ve been your standard fluffy, smutty slice of life. The action gives it a nice change of pace, but that doesn’t change how lowkey it all is. Many people might find it boring, but I thought the quietness was quite pleasant. It’s not a drawn-out story with arcs or anything like that, so there isn’t necessarily much to look forward to, but there is something freeing about that in a story, and I really like it.
Unfortunately, that isn’t to say the story is without its faults. Like I’ve mentioned, there is action in this, but there is a point in the story where a specific gang and its boss are introduced. Kou is swiftly defeated by this boss, and it is presented in a way that makes it seem like the boss and his gang are going to come back in some significant way, but that isn’t the case. In fact, after the defeat, the boss is never seen again. As much as I like that there aren’t any story arcs or major narrative points outside of their budding sexual relationship, this felt like a bait-and-switch. It felt like it was going to become something so much more, and that not only disrupted the slow, peaceful tone but also left me disappointed. We do learn in the author’s note that the boss was a character from another story, but that did little to quell my disappointed curiosity.
Even considering that, I really like this. My only major complaint beyond it is that I wish it were longer. We find out that the sisters are dating, which is so freaking cute, and we only see the pair have penetrative sex once, which was great, but left me wanting more. I just want so much more from these two because they really make you fall for them. I long for a spin-off or sequel of some kind, because I want to see how these two characters grow together. But alas, it is only one volume.

This was disappointing in a good way, as it left me wanting more. However, there are some glaring issues that many people would probably be turned off by, and that’s putting it mildly. The pacing is quick since there are no story arcs to resolve, and it is overall very peaceful, which might come off as boring. But it is in this quiet and peaceful smut between two childhood friends that I enjoy being able to just drift off with them. It makes for a very mindless and pleasant read, something I don’t often come across, and that’s why it ended up in my favorites. It certainly isn’t for everyone, but it might be worth a shot.
