Synopsis:
Soohan is overworked. His boss, Woo Jio, is talented. There is no doubt about it, but he expects the same level of perfection from his team. This leads to long, long nights, working over the weekend, and stress beyond belief. Soohan is as tired and frustrated as the rest of the team, but Soohan has one thing keeping him going that his colleagues probably don’t: an intense attraction to Jio. Soohan frequently fantasizes about his boss, and while that doesn’t refresh him physically, it certainly helps him out mentally.
But Jio makes it hard to like him. Jio has numerous weird and uncomfortable habits. He calls everyone “babe,” presumably to lull them into a sense of calm before dropping the need for overtime on them. He is also extremely touchy-feely, getting into everyone’s personal space whether they want him there or not. And he has a weird fixation on rabbit characters. No matter how attractive he is, there is no denying that he is strange.
Still, Soohan likes him. Though Jio’s newfound obsession with Soohan is making it really hard to maintain his attraction.
Review:
The proportions in this are hilarious. I bring up yaoi hands a lot because they’re the iconic image people think of when old-school yaoi comes up. But this goes even harder than yaoi hands with yaoi necks, arrow penises, pointy nipples, and much more. I particularly like how it says a character has inverted nipples when it is 100% clear they don’t. It is so funny in the worst way, especially when the style itself is so overworked for what it is, in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, some of the faces are stunning, but for such an unserious title with such wild body proportions (and floating 3D items), there’s a dissonance there that I can’t decide if it adds to the humor or just detracts from the quality of the whole thing. Jio’s eye color also changes from blue to green, so there’s that.

As much as the art leaves me wanting, I gotta give credit where credit is due: there are some very funny panels. Once again, I can’t tell if it is trying to be super comedic with the ugly art or if it is trying to be an actual drama and is just tripping and falling into comedy. There is a panel about butt tattoos that truly sent me, and as a character, Soohan is quite funny. His thoughts did make me cackle on occasion, and that’s more than I can say for a lot of comedy titles. I also really like that Jio, though he’s never been with a man before, as far as we know, says he likes anal sex. I’m always befuddled by BL with “straight men” not knowing how anal works when women are just as capable of participating as men. Of course, I know not everyone partakes, man, woman, straight, gay, or otherwise, but just seeing a man presumably admit that he’s had anal sex with a woman before is nice.
Unfortunately, that is where my praise ends because, as a story, this thing is so dumb. I’ve been using nonsensical a ton in my reviews lately, and that word definitely applies here. I mean, having a manager that calls everyone “babe” is wild enough, but add in Soohan being pissed at Jio for taking things slow when he told him he wanted to take things slow, Soohan not being able to recognize Jio without glasses, but recognizing a guy by three moles on his neck, complaining that Jio is being cold, then being shocked when he is flirty and touchy, etc., is truly ridiculous. None of this makes any sense and leads to a never-ending stream of drama that is super melodramatic. There is also little to no sense of time, so you will see a ton of misunderstandings supposedly spanning days, only because characters say so, and not because it feels like time has actually passed. It is just all bad.
Also, for my degenerates, if you are hoping for lots of smut, you might be disappointed. All of it until over the halfway point is just brief panels with former lovers, scenes between a straight couple in Soohan’s apartment building (why that needed to be shown, multiple times, I don’t know), fantasies, and masturbation scenes. There is little to no movement between our main couple for a long time. I probably would’ve been fine with that, but the weird, random straight couple having sex being thrown in multiple times in my BL that is lacking on the smut front between the main couple was just irritating. If any depiction of hetero smut in your BL is a dealbreaker, then this is not the one for you to read. And don’t get me wrong, folks. I am far from a prude, and if you can believe it, I do read smut with straight couples, but if something is called a BL, I am expecting BL smut. When I see more non-BL smut than BL smut in my BL, that is a problem.

This one is truly ridiculous. The art is ugly a majority of the time, we get far too many depictions of sex between a random straight couple for my liking, and the story makes zero sense. It took me far longer than it should have to finish this one because it was just so hard to get through all of the silly melodrama. If the art was decent, at least I’d have something visually to enjoy, but even that is a huge miss. It is funny at times, and there are panels I want to share with everyone, but some of the humor isn’t due to the actual comedy. It is because the art and story are just that bad at times, and that is unfortunate. I would not recommend this to anyone, unless you just want to laugh at some low-quality BL.
